Parts of the CGL

CGL is divided into the following four parts such as:

  • Combined Graduate Level (Tier 1)
  • Combined Graduate Level (Tier-2)
  • Descriptive Test (Tier-3)
  • Skills Test

Combined Graduate Level (Tier 1)

In Tier 1 Part of CGL, the candidate will get four subjects respectively such as-

  • General Awareness
  • General Intelligence
  • English Comprehension
  • Quantitative Aptitude

Each of these Subjects will have 25-25 Question. Every Subject will be 50 Number. That is, each Question will be of 2 Number. The total number of Question in Combined Graduate Level (Tier 1) will be 100 and the total Number will be 200. The candidate will get a total of 1 hour to resolve this Part.

Combined Graduate Level (Tier 2)

In the Tier 2 Part of CGL, the candidate will get two Subject respectively such as-

  • General English
  • Quantitative Ability

Each of these Subjects will have 100-100 Question. Every Subject will be 200 Number. That is, each Question will be of 2 Number. The total number of Question in Combined Graduate Level (Tier 2) will be 200 and the total Number will be 400. The candidate will get a total of 2 hours to resolve this part.

Descriptive Test (Tier-3)

In this Part of CGL, the candidate has to write an essay and letter and the essay and letter will have to be written by the candidate in both Hindi and English languages. You have to do this with the help of pen and paper without a computer. The candidate will get a total of 1 hour time for this.

Skills Test
